One of the most important factors for getting a new service provider is the network it provides. This data has been received after a new survey was conducted in India. This survey was conducted to understand the subscribers way of thinking and their buying pattern. Above all the lucrative schemes and offers having a good network was the prime reason for selecting a new service provider.
The other factors responsible for the sales of Sim card of a mobile operator are Brand image, Tariff rates etc. But all that a subscriber takes in mind before buying a sim card is the network provided by the mobile operator. About 80 % of the mobile subscribers take the network in mind before getting a new mobile connection. Approximately 40 % of the population get a new mobile connection on the basis of the brand image. The better brand image the mobile operator has the more subscribers it will have. A very interesting and surprising factor which came out in the survey was that only 2 out of 10 mobile users took a new connection based on the innovative prices by the mobile operators.
While free mobile limit with a purchase of mobile does not have any effect while buying a mobile connection. It hardly has any effect while getting anew mobile connection. Also having widespread retail outlets does not have an effect either. The research used the sampling method over a representative sample size of 2,408 mobile users, and was conducted across the four major telecom circles and the 4 metros in India. Another interesting find was that Idea Cellular and Reliance Communications were among the top 3 performers in terms of brand image ahead of Tata, MTS and Uninor.
